The Cave

Darkness surrounded the young girl as she ran through the cavern, kicking up dust behind her,
the girl was young only the age of seven. She felt the ground move underneath her bare feet, as snakes and spiders scattered, the girl finally stopped to catch her breath. She looked around in fear, her glowing green eyes wide, "Ma da?" she called "Where are you?", there was no comforting answer in the blackness only the squeal of bats. The child shuddered and collapsed to the ground, one thing she hated was bats. All she remembered was her mother telling her it would be alright, than a rough voice had said "Its time", than darkness...
Tears streamed down her cheeks, she was alone. Utterly alone. Choking on tears the girl recalled her mom drilling into her, never to cry because it was weak. Furiously she wiped the tears off her face, there was a rustling noise like a creature coming towards her, she shut her eyes tight and pinched her arm, hoping that it was all just a bad dream and she would wake up any minute. She opened her eyes and stood back up, "Go away!" shouted the child, but the rustling didn't stop it only got louder. There was a snarl and she started to run again faster than before, "Leave me alone!".
There was day light up ahead, it was so close. Yet so far.
A loud roar came from behind her, she looked back for only a moment, and tripped face first, she cried out in pain as her nose slammed into the ground. The girl tried to stand, but fell again because her feet were tangled into a giant spider web, quickly she tried to undo it but couldn't. She reached for her dagger that was normally hanging in its sheath at her belt but found that it wasn't there. Than the helpless child really began to cry, suddenly the light disappeared making the darkness seem even more unfriendly.
"No!" she shouted her voice echoing off the cave walls, making the bats scatter.
She looked behind her and saw a gray clawed hand reaching towards her, she shrunk away from it but the hand grabbed her ankle, she kicked trying to make its hold loosen, but its grip was like iron.
It started to drag her "no!", soon she stopped struggling, and it dragged the girl back into the waiting darkness.
