The girl sat cross legged on the cave floor, the boy Kinz sat across from her, they were both young, only the age of nine . "Come on you can do it, if you don't they will kill us" he said, the girl shook her head "They won't my mother would never allow it, besides they need us, and I can't" she answered.
He rolled his pale eye's, "Oh you would be surprised, besides you can Star you can. You have to" he replied using her nickname.
She closed her eye's and scrunched up her face, after a while of concentrating she opened her big eye's again, "I can't" she repeated. Kinz sighed, he waved his arm's around, this way and that way. Glowing yellow stripes appeared where his arm's had just been, it was a magic spell of confusion, made to distract your enemies eye's so they couldn't hit you. Kinz snapped his fingers and a glowing yellow wall swept over him blocking the boy from her view. When the wall was finally gone so was Kinz, "Just do it, it's not that hard" she heard his voice say.
The girls eye's searched the cave for him, but he wasn't there, she shivered and lowered her eyebrows. He was right, they would kill her if she couldn't do what he had just done. Where was he?.
Not only was the spell one of confusion but it could turn the caster invisible to the normal eye.
He believed in her, so maybe she could do it, she decided to give it a try. The girl shut her eye's tight, and swept her arm's back and forth like Kinz had done. Concentrating hard she heard a hissing noise, she finally opened her eye's to see dark red stripes like the yellow ones he had made appear in her arm's wake.
She smiled and swept her arm's harder. Faster.
Soon Kinz appeared in front of her, his pale eye's wide.
"H...h...how did you d...do that?" he asked in wonder. "What do you mean?" the girl asked, laughing in the process, she had done it!. "I mean, how by the ancestors did you do that?" he asked again. She frowned "What?". Had she done something wrong?. "You just turned yourself invisible, which is easy I can do that, but in the process you made me become visible" he said, frowning. "Quick see if you can come back, so I can see you".
She tried the same trick with the arms. Nothing.
"What does this mean, that I'm stuck being invisible for the rest of my life" she laughed, but on the inside she was in terrified.
What if no one could ever see her again?.
Kinz shrugged, his face grim, than he spoke "It means the leader is not going to be happy with you".
Very interesting story. I want to see what happens next! Brush up on your basic writing skills (punctuation, grammar, sentence structure) a bit, and you'll have a great little story.
